Botanical Society off the British Isles

Botanical Society off the British Isles (BSBI) (or botanical Société of British Isles ) is a Learned society which gathers the people interested by the study of the Flore of the the United Kingdom, of Ireland and the Île of Man. It gathers professionals like amateurs and is the largest company dedicated to the botany of British Isles.

This company was founded under the name of Botanical Society off London in 1836. It carries out national atlases and by counties which specifies the distribution of different the S from plants. It publishes, in addition to a quarterly newsletter, a periodical, Watsonia , whose name commemorates the botanist Sir William Watson (1715-1787), and organizes various conferences and training cycle. The company is directed by an office of elected members.
