The teams of Eagles take part in the university competitions organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Boston College belongs to division Atlantic Coast Conference since 2005.

American football

The most famous team of Eagles is that of American football created in 1893. Doug Flutie was honoured with a Heisman Trophy in 1984. Moreover, Boston College asserts a national title in 1940 which lends to controversies (see Championnat NCAA of American football). The team evolves/moves with the Alumni Stadium, enclosure of 44.500 places inaugurated the September 21st 1957.

BC took part in 17 bowls with 11 victories for 6 defeats. Eagles thus were essential in Sugar Bowl in 1940, Cotton Bowl in 1984, Hall off Famed Bowl in 1986, Carquest Bowl in 1993, Aloha Bowl in 1994 and 2000, Music City Bowl in 2001, Motor City Bowl in 2002, San Fransisco Bowl in 2003, Meineke Because Care Bowl in 2004 and MPC Computers Bowl in 2005.

Basketball

The team of Basket-ball was created in 1904 (female section since 1973). These teams dispute their home matches with the Conte Forum, room of 8606 places inaugurated in 1988. The boys were champions of Big East in 1997 and 2001 but never were really illustrated in the National Invitation Tournament with, at best, a place among the last eight qualified (quarterfinals) in 1994. At the beginning of the season 2004 - 2005, Eagles sign a series of 20 consecutive victories. In 2006, they sign French Daye Kaba originating in the Val-d'Oise.

Hockey

The basketball players share the Tale Forum with the team of hockey which was national champion twice (1949 and 2001). In configuration hockey, the Tale Forum counts 7884 places. Hockey is not managed by the ACC, also, Eagles evolve/move in Hockey East. In the tournament organized by East Hockey, Eagles were champions in 1986, 1991, 1994, 1995, 1997 and 2006. Before evolving/moving in East Hockey, the hockeyeurs of Boston College took part in the tournament of the ECAC of which they were the champions in 1965, 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977.
