A Borsalino , is a kind of Chapeau in soft felt. By abuse language, it is indicated also simply under the term of Feutre.

Also known under the name Fedora (of the name of a part of Victorien Sardou written in 1882 for Sarah Bernhardt), it is the hat of Indiana Jones. He also gave his name to the project Linux of the same name, in reference to the logo of Red Hat and the red hat of Marc Ewing.

He was manufactured for the first time by the Chapellerie Borsalino, of the name of his creator Giuseppe Borsalino. The first was manufactured on April 4th, 1857. It was devoted Grand Prix to the Exposure of Paris of 1900, then in Brussels in 1910, Turin in 1911 and still in Paris in 1931.

The felt of the borsalino is made starting from Poil S of rabbit or Lièvre.

This famous hat, emblem of the Gangster S of the Years 1930, gave its name to a film.
