Boris Yegorov
Labaroche is a common French, located in the department of the Haut-Rhin and the area Alsace.
Geography
Labaroche is located on a plate, at an average altitude of 750 meters, between the valleys of Kaysersberg and Munster. The commune culminates in its southernmost part by two twin nipples, Large Hohnack (980 m) and Small Hohnack (927 m). The village is very wide and counts many hamlets: the Place, Évaux, the Vault, Low Baroche…Labaroche means the parish in Romance patois. One never spoke besides there the Alsacien but the Welche.
History
Until the XVIIe century, although French-speaking person, the village belonged to German lords, the Ferrette then the Ribeaupierre, as a dependence of their castle of Hohnack. ; Blasonnement: Money with three heads of eagle torn off, of sand, beakfuls and crowned of gold, lampassées of mouths.
