Boris Mikhaïlovitch Vassiliev

Boris Mikhaïlovitch Vassiliev is a fighter pilot and Soviet As of the Second world war, decorated with the Ordre of Héros of the Soviet Union.

Career

Born in the village from Liébédkino , in Chuvash Republic , the November 20th 1913, it started by undertaking studies of Engineer Aéronautique with the technological institute of the Air of Kazan , but, having failed to finish its university course, it engaged in the Red Army , in 1938, and the following year, 1938, it received its Brevet pilot with the military college of the Air of Borisoglebsk .

In 1941 it followed the courses of Commissaire political to the military college of the Air of Kacha and, dice June 1941, during the German invasion, it was transferred as political police chief of the 44.IAD (= Division of air hunting) and, during the three months following , it took part in 35 missions of combat on the face Southern. After having been among the first Ace of the patriotic Great War and to be themselves considering decreeing the title of Hero of the Soviet Union dice November 1941, and though always occupying his political offices near air units, it did not take any more part in operational missions.

At the conclusion of the war it remained in the army, outgoing graduate of the Academy of the Air in 1951, before taking its retirement like polkovnik (= Colonel) in 1953. It was to die, the February 23rd 1955, with Stavropol.
