Boris Bergman
Boris Bergman , of Russian origin, born with London the August 31st 1944, is an author, Parolier, writer and Acteur.
Biography
It arrives to France with his parents at 14 years already impassioned by the writing. He begins as lyric writer by writing his first song, Nocturne , for Eva in 1967 and, as of 1968, success is with go when he writes the English text Rain and Tears for the Aphrodite' S child.It will become then author of multitude of songs for artists more various of which Richard Anthony ( the year 2005 ), Dalida ( Darladirladada ), France Gall ( the Mad years , the Manila and the revolution , Shakespeare and worse still ), Juliette Gréco ( Sheets of tobacco , the King Misère ), Patrick Juvet ( Sonia ), Marie Laforêt ( Why the men cry ), Catherine Lara ( Last edition ), Herbert Léonard ( My heart is like a river ), Mireille Mathieu ( My melody of love , 1976), Nana Mouskouri ( My child ) and especially Nicoletta which will make a tube with Fio Maravilla (1973).
In 1973, Bergman written, on a music of Bernard Liamis, a train which leaves , that Marie defends for Monaco with the Concours Eurovision of the song where it arrives 8th. He repeats in Eurovision in 1975 while writing, always for Monaco, a song it is a letter on a music of André Popp and interpreted by Sophie who places herself in 13th position. It also writes for the Québécois singer Nicole Martin the song It would be a shame in 1974. Besides representing the Quebec with the Festival of the Rose d' Or of Antibes this year, Nicole Martin gains a first price of interpretation with this title of Bergman.
Its anglophilia will lead it naturally, in the mobility of the time, to write the French texts of anglophone successes. One low owes him in particular to his famous adaptation of the song of the film the Godfather of Francis Ford Coppola become under his feather Parle .
But with the wire of more committed collaborations with singers like Maurice Dulac and Christophe, it is at the beginning of the Années 1980, with Alain Bashung, that its style will find its plenitude through successes which will be Gaby Oh! Gaby and Giddiness of the love .
While continuing to write for other singers (Paul Personne, Maxime the Forester, Venice, Rod Barthet, one will on television see it as actor in In the name of all mine of Robert Enrico (1983) or with the cinema in films like Jesus of Montreal of Denys Arcand (1989) and Nobody likes me Marion Vernoux (1994).
In 2006, in homage to Serge Gainsbourg deceased the March 2nd 1991, Bergman adapts in English 14 of his interpreted songs, inter alia, by Marianne Faithfull, Franz Ferdinand, Placebo and Jane Birkin.
