The bordering is a structural member of a Navire. When it is about a ship built out of wood, bordering is one of the parts whose whole constitutes the Bordé. Bordered being the part external of the hull which one tries to make possible of course tightest. A succession of borderings put end to end in the direction length is called a Virure.
The thickness and the type of borderings vary according to their site between the skittle and the top of the wall of bordered. The types of bordering were selected by the carpenters of navy for their various advantages and disadvantages, it in connection with the wood turpentines used (Chêne, Orme, Sapin of Europe, Teck, etc)

bordering with freeboard.
Borderings are assembled on the couples (Membrure S) on the external side by nailing or riveting. the sealing between each board of bordered whose connection is called a seam is ensured by the Calfatage, work carried out by workmen or sailors called Calfat S.
