Bootleg Series Volume 1: The Quine Slaps

Bootleg Series Volume 1: The Quine Tapes is the fourth album live of Velvet Underground. It is about triple recorded album, just like the album 1969: The Velvet Underground Live, at the time of the round of the group in 1969 through North America.

At the time, a fan answering in the name of Robert Quine follows the group where that it goes, to attend as many concerts as possible. He becomes finally friendly with the musicians, who give him the authorization to record the performances. These " Quine Tapes" , finally published in 2001, are in fact a " best-of" of these recordings collected with very few means.

Meanwhile, Robert Quine became a recognized guitarist, playing in particular for the punk group The Voidoids and Lou Reed. The original soundtracks in the concerts, they, disappeared for a long time.
