Comments
Although based on a series of novels, Boogiepop Phantom is in fact a continuation of the events of the very first novel, Boogiepop and Others , which was adapted in Manga and film live.During all the series, two Boogiepop cohabit in the city, truth and a copy created at the time of the phenomenon of the column of the light, but equipped with the face of the serial killer Manticore.
Boogiepop Phantom does not have a main character and the history is very fragmented there. Many the episodes concentrate on a character in particular, who appears only in a peripheral way in all the others. The stories cross and intersect constantly. Many elements and events receive explanation or of context only a long time after their appearance. The chronology is hardly respected, except the very last episodes, and the flashbacks abound. The very whole series can be described like a kind of puzzle, the episodes being parts which imbricate the ones in the others.
The characters of the series are primarily high-school pupils. The topics of the flow of time, the passage at the adulthood and the regret of childhood play a big role.
