|} The will bonsmara is a race Bovin E southern African.
Origin
It comes from the crossing of the branch Zébu of Bos taurus (standard Sanga) with British races. Its name derives from Jan Bonsma its creator and the Mara property where the interbreeding took place. The creation of this race in 1940, aims has to develop a productive bovine breeding in South Africa. The race afrikaner is selected like female race thanks to its great adaptation to the local climate. The British males are intended to dope the production by increasing precocity, the fertility, the survival of calves, the speed of growth and the morphology of carcass. With final, the race includes/understands 5/8e afrikaner and 3/8e of Shorthorn or hereford. The other races, Red poll, angus and sussex were not retained.
Les qualities of this race makes today of it the first race bouchère in South Africa with 45% of many animals.
Morphology
It wears a red dress, more or less marked brown nuances. The bulls are darker than the cows.Aptitudes
It is a mainly high race for its intensive production of meat.Elle presents a good aptitude of heat strength and to the parasitic diseases related to the climate.
