Bonduelle

Bonduelle is a French company specialized in the industrial transformation of the Légume S.

For more than 70 years, Bonduelle has known a fast and constant expansion in the industry of vegetables in Conserve S or Surgelé S.
The Bonduelle products are distributed by means of the traditional channels of distribution (hypermarkets, Supérettes…) and those of the restoration except hearth (Restaurants, collective Restoration, school Canteen S, staff canteens…).

History

The foundation of the company goes back to 1853, when Louis Bonduelle-Flagstone and Louis Lesaffre-Roussel found a Distillerie Grain S and of Genièvre located at Inlay-lez-Lille. They buy then a farm with Renescure on June 17th, 1862, which they transform into grain alcohol distilling.

In 1901, the company and its seven factories are divided in three family companies: Bonduelle, Lesaffre and Lemaître.

It is starting from 1926 that the company starts to put out of box garden pea. In the Années 1930, the request is increasingly increasing what allows an expansion of the company. The lines of business are stopped starting from 1940 until the end of the Second world war.

With the request even more increasing, the company starts to buy vegetables in addition to its clean production.
In the medium of the Years 1960, the company starts improved its exports. In 1968, Bonduelle launches out in the deep freezing of vegetables. Several European subsidiary companies are created: in Germany in 1969, Italy in 1972 and England in 1973. In 1973, the company carries out half of its turnover with its exports.

In 1980, Bonduelle acquires the principal Belgian canner , Marie-Thumas and Cassegrain in 1989.

The company continues its international expansion with subsidiary companies in Brazil in 1994 and Argentina in 1996.

In 1997, the company is introduced into the “expenses worked out” with the acquisition of Salad Minute.

In 2007, Bonduelle supplements the acquisition of the Canadian Food Career (mark Artic Gardens), leader of the vegetables and of frozen and who allows him to put the hand on 39.500 hectares.
