Bon Marché
Bon Marché is very first the Grand store. Located in the 7 {{E}} district of Paris at the 24 of the Rue of Sevres (angle Rue of Babylon and Rue of the Vat).
The store was founded in 1838 by the Videau brothers. Following a short association in 1848, Aristide and Marguerite Boucicaut buy the partnership shares of the Videau brothers who were frightened by the commercial ideas of the couple. In 1852, they launch out in the transformation of the store, then developing the new concept of Grand store with a vast broad and major set, fixed prices, an direct access and a setting in scene of the goods in a space of sale. In 1869 following their business success, Boucicaut launch out in the enlarging of the store, the architect Louis-Charles Boileau, succeeding Alexandre Laplanche , called upon the engineer Gustave Eiffel for the structure of the building.

Its creation is followed of that of the Grands Stores of Louvre by Alfred Chauchard, Auguste Hériot and Charles Eugene Faré, helped by Pereire, of the Beautiful Flower stand, the Printemps and Samaritaine created by Ernest Cognacq, a former hawker and his wife, Marie-Louise Jaÿ former employee of Boucicaut in Bon Marché.
A room of thousand places is installed at the top of the building to accommodate evenings.
In 1910, on the initiative of Mrs. Boucicaut in order to place her customers in the vicinity, is created the Hôtel Lutetia, which was the first Hotel Art déco with Paris, and which remains only the de luxe hotel of the left bank.
The group LVMH, of Bernard Arnault, repurchases Bon Marché in 1984 to make of it the department store of the luxury of left bank. Another department store, Samaritaine will be repurchased with the Renan family in 2000 (Rue of the New Bridge, in the 1st district of Paris) to also join the bosom of LVMH Distribution Services, then will be closed the June 15th 2005.
