Bolyeriidae
The boas of the Round island or bolyériidés ( Bolyeriidae Hoffstetter, 1946) form a family Serpent S concerning Henophidia.
Only two S formerly classified among the boïdé S belong to this:
- Bolyeria Gray, 1842. This kind comprises only one:
- Bolyeria multocarinata , whose common noun is Boa of the Ronde island of Dussumier.
- Casarea Gray, 1842. This kind comprises also only one species:
- Casarea dussumieri , whose common noun is Boa of the Ronde island of Schlegel.
Both are endemic of the island Ronde, a small island with a few kilometers in the north of the Mauritius, in the Indian Ocean. However, Bolyeria multocarinata was not observed since 1975. The species and thus the kind are thus supposed extinct.
