Bolt, Beranek and Newman
Bolt, Beranek and Newman ( BBN ) is an American company created in 1940 by two professors of the Massachusetts Institute off Technology (MIT): Richard Bolt and Leo Beranek - and of a former student of Richard Bolt: Robert Newman. The company owes its name with its founders: they are their three initial.
This company was pionnière in the history of the Informatique, one owes him peel-Miss:
- the language Logo,
- the Operating system TENEX,
- the installation of the network ARPANET,
- the sending of the first Email
The history of this company is deeply overlapping with that of the company DEC and the university of the MIT.
