Bologhine ibn Ziri

Bologhine ibn Ziri , of its complete name Abou El Feth Bologhine Ibn Ziri Essanhadji , is the founder of the Berber dynasty Ziride reigning on the Ifriqiya of 972 with 1152.

Whereas his/her father Ziri ibn Manad is governor of the central Maghreb, Bologhine bases the towns of Algiers on old the Icosium (960), of Médéa and of Miliana, it also makes rebuild the villages destroyed by the revolts.

With died his/her father, in a battle against Berber tribes kharidjites in 971, it inherits the governorship.

In 972, the Fatimides transfer their court from Mahdia to the Cairo in Egypt, Bologhine ibn Ziri is then named viceroy of Ifriqiya, with for capital Kairouan. Fatimides carry, with them, richnesses and military materials, thus the first priority of Zirides is the reinforcement to be able to them. However, the displacement of the Fatimide fleet towards Egypt returns the conservation of the Kalbides in impossible Sicily.

Bologhine reaches the Atlantic Ocean, during a forwarding to the Morocco, where he also fought against the Barghwata. It conquered part of Morocco including/understanding Fès and Sijilmassa. The Califat of Cordoue could thus maintain the fortresses of Ceuta and Tangier.

Bologhine dies in 984, with the return of its forwarding. It is his/her son Al-Mansur ibn Bologhine who succeeds to him.
