Bolečica is channeled on most of its course. For this purpose, the river was moved towards the west, so that it is a little in withdrawal of Boleč, city which owed him its name.

The short valley of Bolečica can be divided into two parts: Vrčin-Bubanj Potok and Bubanj Potok-Leštane-Vinča; it is used as road with important transportation routes:

  • the railway line Belgrade Požarevac;

  • the Kružni could , main roads located in the southern suburbs of Belgrade and which commance to approximately 30 km in the west, with Ostružnica;
  • part of the Smederevski could , the main roads which connect Belgrade to Smederevo;
  • part of the highway Belgrade Niš, in Bubanj Potok.

The name of the river means " the water which relieves the maladies". It nevertheless today is particularly polluted. This pollution comes owing to the fact that it receives waste water of Vrčin and even from more important and more distant localities like Kaluđerica.
