Boleč

Boleč , in Serb Cyrillic Sr Болеч, is a locality of Serbia located in the municipality of Grocka, district of Belgrade. In 2002, it counted: 5750 inhabitants, of which a majority of Serb.

Boleč is located at 17 km in the east of Belgrade, close to the road of the Sr Smederevski could which connects the Serb capital to Smederevo. One of the arms of the river Bolečica crosses the city and its name gives him. Composed of the words Serb S bowl (“the pain”) and leči (Ti) (“to cure”), this name means “the water which relieves the pain”.

Boleč knows a considerable population growth (: 4659 inhabitants in 1991); in spite of that she is still officially regarded as a rural locality. Many refugees coming from Bosnia, of Croatia and the Kosovo continue to settle in this area. The locality forms from now on a continuous whole with Ritopek, Vinča and Leštane.
