Under feudality, the stronghold of Boisyvon belonged to the éponyme family which also had the stronghold of Fontenermont. The most outstanding character in the history of the parish was, undoubtedly, Samson de Boisyvon who built, at the end of, the vault of the church placed under the patronage of Samson Saint to whom a pilgrimage was dedicated.

Boisyvon, which " were always catholic S in the mâles" , married on several occasions women of Protestant religion . The branch of this line dies out in 1729 because the last two descendants Louis-Léonor and Georges entered in quarrel in connection with the heritage of a young lady of Laubrière. Georges was assassinated, in 1729, by his brother and Louis-Léonor who was condemned to decapitation. The goods of Louis-Léonor were confiscated by ordinance of the general treasurers of finances of Caen.
