Geography
The commune of Boissy-without-Have is located in the middle of the Plaine of Montfort-l' Amaury, with approximately six kilometers in the north of the latter and with 27 kilometers in the west of Versailles.The communes bordering are Auteuil in the North-East, Vicq in the east, Méré in south-east, Galluis in the south, Tail-lez-Yvelines in south-west, Garancières in the west and Autouillet in north.
The secondary road 42 crosses the commune of is in west (Neauphle-the-Old man - Septeuil). The remainder of the roadway system is communal.
In the railway plan, the station the SNCF nearest is the Gare of Montfort-l' Amaury - Mother with less than five kilometers in south-east. The Station of Garancières - the Tail is with at most six kilometers in south-west.
History
The name of the commune comes from the Latin buxiacum , misadventure of buxetum which indicates one planted place of buis. The have-nots , in Latin sine censu , means “without fortune, without good”, Boissy being in the past a village pauvre ; this name “without having” appeared already, indeed, in the inscriptions engraved on the tombs which were in the church (1332). The lords of Boissy were made them devise&thinsp later on of it;: Without being afraid . Boissy was a baillage depend on the treasurers, canons and chapter of the Holy Royal Vault of the Wood of Vincennes which were thus lords under the name of the king of the ground and seigniory of the Small Meadows and Boissy partly . Several houses of Boissy also depended on Prévôté of the Meadows.In September 1568, Raoul Moreau († 1583), lord of Grosbois, obtains confirmation of erection in châtellenie of Auteuil, joined together Boissy-without-To have, Villarceaux, Tronchay and Andelu. His/her son Victor (1563-1613) will be lord of Boissy, Marcq, Chardonnay and Saint-Aubin.

Culture
- the actress Romy Schneider (1938-1982) rests with the cemetery of Boissy, near his/her David son, tragically deceased in 1981.
