Boiron

The Laboratoires Boiron are a pharmaceutical company homeopathic French which manufactures and distributes its products.

Boiron currently has 36 establishment of distribution in Metropolitan France and 18 subsidiary companies with In addition to Mer or abroad.

History

Jean and Henri Boiron created a homeopathic pharmacy with Paris, as well as a dispensary. In June 1932, Jean Boiron opens a pharmacy with Lyon, street Thomassin in the 2 district.

In 1965, beginning of the refunding of homeopathy by the Social security.

In 1967, the laboratory of Jean Boiron amalgamates with that of Henri Boiron and the Modern Homeopathic Laboratories (LHM) to become the Boiron Laboratories, which become as of the beginning of the Années 1970 the world leader of homeopathy.

In 1969, the Boiron Laboratories create one 1st factory in the 8th district of Lyon. They then take again all the manufacture made in subcontracting. It is the beginning of a strong expansion, 20% to 30% of annual growth until 1986.

The the Seventies mark the beginning of the succursalisation of the distribution of the products: creation of establishments in Toulouse, Lille, Bordeaux, Belfort, Nantes, Avignon, Grenoble.

In 1974, the Boiron Laboratories move in Sainte Foy Lyon in the Lyons suburbs to face the very fast expansion of homeopathy.

The first international subsidiary company is open in 1979, Boiron Italy.

In 1983, Christian Boiron succeeds his father with the Presidency of the company. It develops the promotion of the specialities by publicity near the public: Oscillococcinum, Stodal, Homéoplasmine etc It opens a subsidiary company in the U.S.A. then in Spain.

In 1987, Boiron is placed on the stock market at the second market of Lyon.

In 1988, Boiron repurchases the laboratories LHF, then number three French of homeopathy. The turnover is thus increased by 30%.

In 1992, beginning of the sales in Poland and a Czech Republic. It is the beginning of an increasingly thorough development towards the worldwide of old the " block of Est"

In 1995, Boiron extends to Messimy, in the Mounts of the Lyonese on a ground of 18 hectares. The industrial site includes/understands at the beginning manufacture and conditionings of tablets, pomades, syrups and one 2nd unit of dyeings mothers. Comes to be added in 1998 the manufacture of the granules then in 2002 the central store of forwardings and in 2003 the extension of the Seat.

In 2004, lowers refunding of the homeopathy from 65% to 35% by the Social security.

In 2005, Boiron repurchases Dolisos (subsidiary of the Laboratories Pierre Fabre), world number two of homeopathy and largely overdrawn company. A plan of reorganization and rationalization of the services of production, distribution and commercial is undertaken between July 2005 and December 2006.

In 2006, in order to take retreat, Christian Boiron remains Chairman and managing director of the Boiron laboratories, while coordinating the activities in Italy in order to then take again this subsidiary company in a catastrophic situation. Thierry Boiron, his brother, leaves the subsidiary company Boiron the USA to become Managing director of the Boiron laboratories.

In 2007, the Boiron Laboratories have 3 Laboratories of production, 37 establishments of distribution in France and 18 subsidiary companies in the World or in Outre-Mer. The manpower of the Company of 2.850 is paid in France in 2007 and nearly 4.000 in the World
