Boinvilliers is a common French, located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its inhabitants is called Boinvilliérois.

Geography

The commune of Boinvilliers is located on the plate of the Mantois at about fifteen kilometers at the south of Mantes-the-Pretty, on the left of the valley of the Vaucouleurs. The territory, far from wooded, weak inclined towards the east, from 145 to 120 meters of altitude, is almost entirely devoted to the cereal field crop.

The communes bordering are Rosay and the Villette in the east, Courgent and Montchauvet in the south, Dammartin-in-Serf and Flacourt in the west and Vert in north.

She is served by secondary roads which connect it to the common neighbors.

History

The village was founded in XIVe century, by the installation of a monastery in the neighbouring hills, of a catholic order.

Culture

  • Church Saint-Clement-and-Jean-Baptist: church hones some dating from XVe century, altered in XVIe century, is built according to a cruciform plan little running. The bell-tower in the shape of massive square tower, with slate cover, flanks the entry on its left.
