Boinville-in-Mantois

Boinville-in-Mantois is a common Frenchwoman located in the department of the Yvelines and the area Île-de-France.

Its name would derive from the name from a character, Bovin , Gallo-Roman time.

Geography

The commune of Boinville-in-Mantois is located at 8 km in the south-east of Mantes-the-Pretty, in the plate of Mantois at an altitude of approximately 135 m.

The commune is bordering on the communes of the Wall-on-Seine and Guerville in north, of Goussonville in the east and Arnouville-lès-Mantes in south-east.

History

The territory of Boinville was a long time with the Middle Ages the property of the close seigniories, in particular of Goussonville and Hargeville.
  • 1933 : adoption of the name of Boinville-in-Mantois, to avoid any confusion with Boinville-the-Strapping man (also common of Yvelines).

Economy

Rural district.

Electric station of Mézerolles: important and interconnection switchyard of the grid system of electricity with high-tension surrounding the capital. This station on which converges of many lines with very high-tension finds to 5 km in the south of the thermo plant of Porcheville.

Culture

  • Saint Martin's day Church: building hones some dating from XIe century, rebuilt in XIVe century. The nave with three spans is covered internally with a skirting.
