Life

There have succeeded his mother in 1163, his father-in-law Renaud de Châtillon being prisoner with Alep for three years and in front of remaining to it still sixteen years. The conflict ended in the marriage of Raymond IV with Alix d' Arménie, niece of Leon II, and by the release of Bohémond.

Bohémond III died in 1201, and the fight for the succession of Antioche opened between Bohémond IV and Raymond-Roupen d' Antioche, the son of Raymond IV.

Marriages and children

Bohémond married in first weddings towards 1169 Orgueilleuse of Harenc (deceased about 1175) and had:

  • Raymond IV, count de Tripoli, died in 1199,
  • Bohémond IV, count de Tripoli and prince d' Antioche, born in 1172, died in 1233.

 

Widower it remaria towards 1176 with Théodora Comnène, and had:

  • Constance which died in low age,
  • Manuel of Poitiers, born in 1176, died in 1211.

 

In 1180, it separated from Théodora to marry Sibylle of which it had:

  • Alix of Poitiers; married in 1204 with Guy Ier Embriaco, lord of Gibelet (+ 1233)
  • Guillaume of Poitiers, listed in 1194

 

Having been excommunicated for its separation and its third marriage, it had to separate from Sibyl. In 1199 he marries Isabelle and had:

  • Bohémond of Poitiers, died in 1244, which was lord of Botron, having married the heiress of the seigniory.
