Boffres

Boffres is a common French, located in the department of the Ardèche and the area the Rhone-Alps.

Located a few kilometres from Vernoux in the south-west of Valence.

Frame on a projection of ground in the middle of châtaigners, Boffres owes its name with the wind which blows in this area Balfredo.

Personalities

Vincent d' Indy, (Paris 3/27/1851 - 12/2/1931): Born from a Cevennes family since XIVe century. Type-setter, raises César Franck, it married with a cousin with Boffres, in Ardeche, where it made build the castle of Faugs. There he wrote good number of partitions, whose “Symphony celebrates it on a French mountain song” (known as Cévenole) in 1886, day of summer on the mountain… Leader, eminent pedagog….
