Body with whales
The body with whales is the ancestor of the Corset ; it is exclusively female. Mainly widespread to the XVIIe and XVIIIe centuries, it goes over a shirt, like undergarment under the dress. Equipped with a Busc in front of, it was laced in the back and sufficiently rigid to refine the size of the lady which carried it.
