Body Hannovera Göttingen

The Corps Hannovera Göttingen is one of oldest the German Corps of students, a corporation, brotherhood or student's fraternity. It was founded the January 18th 1809 at the university Georg-August-Universität de Göttingen. The name was selected because the founders were originating in the Royaume of Hanover. This corporation is one of the founders (1848) Kösener Senioren-General assemblies of Freemasons-Verband (KSCV), oldest association gathering this type of brotherhoods in Germany and Austria.

Hannovera applies still today the principle of the academic duel. Its members carry their Couleur S (cap and tricolor ribbon) at the time of the official occasions. The Latin currency of Hannovera is Nunquam retrorsum, strong adiuvat fortuna! French (: Never to move back, the chance accompanies the corageux ).

The most known member of Hannovera is Otto von Bismarck, which problement spent the years more " folles" of its life at the time of its studies at the university of Göttingen. Because of his excessively turbulent way of life one forced it á to live apart from the walls of the city and put in detention ten days the prison of the German university (: ).

Other famous members were the chief of the opposition liberérale to the Reichstag, Rudolf von Bennigsen and the German economist Wilhelm Roscher.
