Bobby Skinstad

Bobby Skinstad , born the July 3rd 1976 with Bulawayo with the Zimbabwe, is a player of South-African Rugby , evolving/moving at the station of third line (1m93, 104kg).

Third line which occupied the three post offices of the third line with Boks, he was large a star of South-African Rugby. Its career, which began with Boks against England with Twickenham with old 21 years, suffered from its many wounds which often held it moved away from the grounds.

These wound do not prevent it however from taking part in the world cup 1999. In 2001, it with the honor to be appointed captain of Boks, role which he will hold during ten matches until the beginnings of the season 2002.

Skinstad obtains the 34e its selections against Argentina in 2003. It is not selected any more following a wound.

It goes to England where it evolves/moves in sixth and the seventh divisions with Richmond.

It returns to South Africa, it plays with the Sharks the finale of the Super 14 against bulldozers.

It finds in 2007 the national selection, it is World champion 2007 with South Africa. He announces in the tread the end of his career of player.

Bob Skinstad was at the end of the Nineties, the prototype of the third line centers modern, faster, more skilful with the balloon and close to the role of a three-quarter centers. It has in a certain manner open the way to players like Joe van Niekerk or Pierre Spies. But that was not without creating controversies. Some showed Skinstad to balk with dark work of conquest suitable for the role of before and to seek only with " chasser" the test.
