Bob and Bobette

Bob and Bobette ( Suske in Wiske in original version) is a series of Belgian Cartoon, more precisely Flemish, created by Willy Vandersteen (1913 - 1990). There exists at the present time more than 250 albums published in French language for this series. The French editor is Erasme. After the death of the author, two draftsmen took again successively the feather: Paul Geerts and Marc Verhaegen.

Main characters

Bob and Bobette, but also Lambique, Aunt Sidonie, Jerome and Barabas.

Bob and Bobette generated three derived series:

jokes of Mr Lambique (three albums in 1955)
Jerome (93 albums between 1964 and 1982).
fabulous voyages of Jerome (13 albums, between 1982 and 1985)

Blue period

The blue one is a series of 8 episodes published in the newspaper of Tintin between 1948 and 1959.

Red period (2^e left)

The second part will start with number 67 for more coherence between various countries which would have published certain numbers in a different way. Thus the last listed number being the 66, Willy Vandersteen decided to begin the new series this time color from 67. Willy Vandersteen collaborated until number 222, Paul Geerts having begun again from the 223 until the 271. Marc Verhaegen takes over 272 to the 287. After the reference of the latter of the Vandersteen studio, it is Peter Van Gucht which ensures the scenario and Luc Morjaeu the drawing.

Adaptations

in 1975, the series knew an animated adaptation (6x22mn)
in 1982, the park Bellewaerde devotes a zone to the two heroes
in 2004, the episode diamond sinks was adapted to the cinema by Rudi Van Den Bossche with Joeri Busschots (Bob), Céline Verbeeck (Bobette), Dirk Roofthooft (Lambique), Peter Van den Begin (Aunt Sidonie), Stany Crets (Jerome) and Tuur De Weert (Barabas).
