Robert Wilson , born in 1941 with Waco (Texas), is a Director and American Plasticien.

After studies with the Texas and Brooklyn, Robert Wilson divides himself between Paris and the Arizona to follow a double teaching of painter and interior designer.

He creates his first spectacles with New York in 1969: The King off Spaina , The Life and Times off Sigmund Freud but its true first great success and the international dedication comes in 1971, in Paris, with the Glance of the deaf person . He collaborates then in particular with Philip Glass for Einstein one the Beach , Satyagraha and Akhnaten . He makes many settings in scene in the opera the S most prestigious (the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, the Opéra Bastille, etc).

He generally signs itself all the decorations, lights and costumes of his spectacles.

He currently resides at Watermill Center of Long Island.
