Bob Fitzsimmons
Charles-Frederic Reinhard , of his name of birth Karl Friedrich Reinhard , born with Schorndorf the October 2nd 1761 and died in Paris the December 25th 1837, is a diplomat and French politician of German origin.
Biography
It makes studies of philosophy and philology with Tübingen and comes to France in 1787. In 1791, it gives to Paris a conference on the German literature, but it is filled with enthusiasm by the Révolution. It enters to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and, in 1792, is named embassy secretary to London. It occupies then various stations, in particular with Naples.Friend of Emmanuel-Joseph Sieyes and Roger Ducos, it is named Foreign Minister on July 20th 1799, station which it occupies until November 21st. In 1800, it is sent as ambassador in Suisse, in 1802 with Hamburg, then in the kingdom of Westphalia whose Jerome Bonaparte is king. In 1813, it returns to Paris. Louis XVIII appoints it ambassador with Frankfurt, and Louis-Philippe Ier with Dresden.
He is the friend of Goethe with which he exchanges a bulky correspondence. Named baron in 1809, count in 1815, it becomes Pair of France in 1832. He is elected member of the Academy of Science morals and political in 1832.
