Board of inquiry into the viaduct of the Harmony
The Commission Johnson is a board of inquiry charged with investiguer the causes of the Effondrement of the viaduct of the Harmony to Laval (Quebec) the September 30th 2006.
It was installation by the Prime Minister Jean Charest following the collapse of this viaduct at the intersection of the boulevard of the Harmony and the Autoroute 19.
The audiences began the April 10th 2007. This investigation is chaired by Pierre Marc Johnson, lawyer and former Québécois Prime Minister. Its budget is of 2,8 million dollars, in particular allowing the reproduction in laboratory for presentation in video. Already a recommendation to install clamps “anticisaillement” in the Canadian code of construction is made.
The experts examine in particular the existence or the maintenance of a seal and the role of melting salts in the development of the crack.
The collapse of this viaduct because death of 5 people and several casualties of which some seriously.
