Blue label
Blue Label is a French label of Jazz, impromptu musics and musics of the world based with Amiens.
The label was creates in 1986 by the Michel Orier sound engineer and is a fililale House of the Culture of Amiens. Its first director is Michel Orier, since replaced by Pierre Walfisz.
Initially intended for the jazz, Blue Label opens into 1992 with the Musiques of the world via its new Indigo label, and with the Electronic musics with its label Bleu electric.
Label Bleu counts in its rows of many sizes of the French jazz: Henri Texier, Bojan Zulfikarpasic, Julien Lourau, Magic Malik… like foreigners (David Krakauer and Steve Coleman in particular).
Musicians such as Louis Sclavis and Marc Ducret have also a time belonged to the label.
The label knows important financial problems since 2005/2006, in particular because of the fall of its sales of its discs of Back catalogs (the trio Romano - Sclavis - Texier for example, great success of the label). In 2006, blue Label records a deficit of 100.000 euros, and chooses to reduce the number of its publications and to grant a license of marketing.
