Blue Muskat

The blue muscatel or muskat blue is a Cépage Suisse of red grapes.

It is also known under the name Garnier 83/2, is a Swiss variety of origin.

The crossing was carried out in the years 1930 by the stockbreeder of Garnier vine. This type of vine is described as Hybride.

The blue Muscatel is a crossing between Garnier 15/6 X Seyve-Villard 20-347.

It is a good Table grapes with a very pleasant taste.

Characteristics

  • Aspect of the Bunch S: they are large and loose. The bay S are rather large and oval with a crunching flesh. The flesh is coloured of mauve and blue
  • Caractères Ampélographique S: sheets with 5 Sines, green and slightly reds at the ends when they are young people and quite green when they reached their stage " adulte". The sheets are slightly fluffy
  • Débourrement: it is observed as of semi April with an average strength
  • Floraison: Enough early, flowering begins in technological June
  • Maturité: as of semi August and lasts until at the beginning of September
  • Aspect of the stock: set up port, average strength
  • Diseases and damage: good resistance to the diseases Cryptogamique S. Its resistance to the Oïdium is very good. Its good resistance to the Mildiou is remarkable. It resists the Botrytis well. One notices at the time of flowering a sensitivity to the Coulure if there is much wind. As the maturity of the grape is rather early, the grains can be attacked by the Guêpe S in August
  • Résistance to the Gelée S of spring: good resistance, but as débourrement is rather early, the late frosts are to be feared
  • Résistance to cold of winter: good on the lignified parts
