Blossom orange

Orange Blossom is a group Nantes, whose style is between the Electronic music pure and the World music of Arabic influences and Western.

Orange Blossom is the fruit of the musical meeting, in 1993, of PJ Chabot (violin) and Jay C. (percussions and song). Into the beginning of the year 1994, Eric (organ) integrates the group. The group is stabilized in 1995 with the arrival of Carlos Robles Arenas to the battery and with djembé (it will also deal with the samples), then the departure of Eric. The musical influences asserted by the group are then Trans-Total Underground, Tricky, Compact Minimal and Tindersticks.

After two own-produced audio cassettes, their first album, Orange Blossom , leave in May 1997 on the label Prikosnovénie and are sold with 15000 copies. Before the exit of the second album, the group is subject to several influences, in particular in the field of the ethnic and traditional musics. They meet and collaborate with several foreign artists, like the percussionist Yelemba of Abidjan or the Egyptian collective Ganoub, before launching out in a round to Egypt, France and Belgium. But, the singer Jay C. does not adhere any more to these influences and separates from the group in 2000 to create Prajna. In 2001, Mathias Vaguenez (percussionnist) and Leïla Bounous (singer) unite with the two other musicians. The group will work during two years on a new album, Everything Must Change , which left the February 28th 2005 at Bonsaï Music.
