Blocker

In navigation, a blocker is a device intended to wedge an operation (rope, listening) of gréement running in order to immobilize it.

In is mathematics, a blocker??

The blockers are used for the order of the processes, in the case of sampled signals. There exist several kinds of blockers. Their principle is “to recreate” signal between discrete values provided in entry. Simplest is the blocker of order 0 whose exit keeps the same value until the arrival of a new value in entry. The order of the blocker represents the complexity of the section of curve located between two values:

  • for an order 0, the representation of the exit will give a histogram out of bars
  • for an order 1, one will have segments connecting two successive values directly, that is to say a basic linear interpolation.
  • for an order 2, one will obtain a parabola between 2 values
  • for an order N, one will obtain a curve of order N between 2 successive values.
