Block of peace
The Bloc of peace ( Hebrew Gush Shalom in ) is a pacifist organization Israeli founded in 1993 by Uri Avnery. It militates for peace between Israéliens and Palestinians for the recognition of the two people and the autonomy of each one. Its positions are regarded as being very with left. Association, in liaison with Palestinians, defends the rights of those to obtain their own State. Its objective is mainly to defend the creation of a State Palestinian, beside Israel and distinct from this one, according to logic " two people, two États" , which he considers being the condition for peace.

“Gush Shalom is the hard core of the Israeli pacifist movement. Often described like " résolu" , " militant" , " radical" or " cohérent" , Gush Shalom plays a driving role in the determination of the moral and political program of the forces of peace in Israel. Since 1993, this movement was different from its positions inébranlables in particular on the question from the Palestinian State”.
He works with Palestinians favorable to the peace and the creation of two States, to advance these objectives.
Some of its standpoint can be read here and where it presents its peace plan, written in 2001.
The French site of peace now related to Shalom Archav in Israel, which is the other pacifist movement, also publishes texts of Gush Shalom, in particular those of Uri Avnery.
Uri Avnery met and interviewed Yasser Arafat in 2004.
