Blind Faith
Blind Faith was a British group of rock'n'roll formed in 1968 by Eric Clapton (ex- Cream) and Steve Winwood (ex- Traffic), following the separation of their old groups.
History
The creation of the group was done while improvising and while working on new musical ideas in the house of Clapton to Surrey. On the initiative of Winwood, Ginger Baker, the old beater of Cream was invited to join them for recordings in studio. Rick Grech (Bassiste of the group Family that it left in full round) was also invited. Lastly, the producer Jimmy Miller joined them to frame the recordings. The news of the formation of the group created a wave of excitation in the public and a free concert was organized with Hyde Park (London) the July 7th 1969. The press reported that the reduced repertory of the group had disappointed the crowd of 100.000 people which also expected to hear songs of the time Cream and Traffic. The recording of the album continued and was followed by a short round in Scandinavia, then with the the United States of the July 12th (New York, Madison Square Garden) to the August 24th (Hawaii) with, inter alia, Free and Delaney and Bonnie.
The reaction of the public to the the United States was similar to that received with the the United Kingdom and the group put at rejouer some titles Cream and of Traffic to alleviate the audience. The group which did not want to become a pastiche of Cream separated immediately after this round.
Discography
Blind Faith left only one album, Blind Faith , in August 1969 composed of 6 titles. This disc brought a controversy besides since the small pocket of the album introduced a 14 year old young girl stripped holding a model of plane with the vaguely phallic pace in its hands.
