Arthur " Blind" Blake (born towards 1893 with Jacksonville in Florida and died towards 1933) was a Chanteur and Guitariste of very influential Blues. It is often called.
Biography
The life of Blind Blake is very badly known. Its birthplace, Jacksonville, indicated by Paramount Records remains a ground for dispute. Even its name could carry to confusions. The names observers on the royalties of its songs are alternatives of Blind Arthur Blake although certain people think that it was born Arthur Phelps what lunatic Blake.Its first recordings go back to 1926 and are sold well. Its first recording solo is Early Morning Blues with West Coast Blues on the face B. These two titles are very good examples of its style.
Blake records its last song in 1932 which finishes its career because of the Faillite of Paramount.
At the end of its life, Blind Blake drank much and it is possible that led to its death which as the remainder of its life remains badly known.

Style
Blind Blake recorded approximately 80 titles for Paramount Records at the end of the Années 1920 and at the beginning of the Années 1930. It is one of the most accomplished guitarists in his style with a variety in its surprising production. Its play with the finger (finger picking) complex and intriguing inspired the Reverend Gary Davis, Jorma Kaukonen, Ry Cooder, Ralph Mctell and much of others.It is also allowed that its late recordings do not have the glare of the first.
There remains famous for its sound of guitar so particular and comparable as well with the level of the stamp as on the level of the rate/rhythm to a Piano Ragtime.

When the white guitarist of Jazz Eddie Lang played with black groups, sometimes the recording companies listed it under the name of Blind Blake . On the majority of its recordings, mainly with Lonnie Johnson, the name was Blind Willy Dunn .In addition, there exists only one known photograph of Blake.
