Famous characters

• Native of Bleymard, Henri Rouvière (1876-1952), professor of anatomy to the Medical college of Paris and member of the national Academy of medicine. It has its bust on the principal place of the village and the college of Bleymard bears its name.
• the Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson crossed Bleymard the September 27th 1878 at the time of its excursion through the the Cevennes reported in its Voyage with an ass in the Cevennes (1879).
