Association
It is about a Breton-speaking movement of action catholic, which, so some of its members is Nationalistes Breton, remains under the articles exclusively in the cultural field and a movement of Church, from where some resumptions in hand by the bishop of Quimper and Leon or his vicar Général Joncour.
Origin
The Bleun-Brug (“Fleur de Bruyère”) was created in 1905 by the abbot Perrot. The origin of the name goes up with the Congress of the Breton Regionalistic Union in 1905 with the Castle of Kerjean. The flower of heather symbolizing Breton tenacity. Association answered the following currency: “Breton and Faith are brother and sister in Brittany”. It is a combat, to defend the Breton faith, language and traditions which starts. Association is expressed through an annual festival where the Breton theater, the song and the conferences are with the program.
Then vicar of St Vougay (Sant Nouga), Yann-Vari Perrot, began this movement with plays with the castle of Kerjean in 1905. In parallel it taken direction of the review " Feiz ha Breiz" hitherto directed by the vice-chancellor of St Vougay, the Cardinal abbot.
Of 1905, in spite of a bracket of 1914 at 1918, until 1944, year of its assassination, the Perrot abbot animated this movement by organizing rear Gouelioù Bleun Brug (festivals of the B.B.) each year.
Before war
The foundation of Bleun-Brug, which was, mainly, directed by the Abbé Perrot during forty years, and the purpose of which were to maintain the traditions Breton and the use of the Breton Langue in the rural populations of Low-Brittany. It was a true movement of action Catholique, depend on the bishop of Quimper. The statutes of this association established in 1912 were altered in 1925, to define the two objectives of association:
- to promote the Breton ideal in triple field intellectual, political and economic
- to contribute, as a catholic, to return to Brittany the full exercise of its traditional faith
After war
In 1948, the Bleun-Brug is started again by the doctor Yann-Herve Libéral, is supported by Herve Budes de Guébriant, and is helped by Herri Caouissin and Yann Minor. At the time of the opening speech, with Saint-Pol.-of-Leon, De Guébriand wants to rehabilitate his/her old friend Jean-Marie Perrot. The congress following in Locronan is placed under the sign of Barzaz-Breiz, it will announce the resurrection of the Abbaye of Landévennec, hearth of Celtic Christendom, project for which the abbot Perrot had fought so much. Bleun-Brug returns in crisis period, after the death of Libéral . The heritage of the Perrot abbot and the multiple pressures (évêché, press,…) make change the executive team. It will be successively chaired by rear Gab Moal, and the Admiral Douguet, will be assisted of the brother Aiming Seité, general secretary, of Bernard of Parades, director artistic, who launches the scenic big games of outdoor. The Chanoine Mévellec succeeds later as general chaplain the Chanoine Favé. The organization will continue its action for the " Christian restoration of Brittany with its richnesses cultural, artistic, folk and spiritual, under the Celtic sign of the cross " : congress, Breton course of , school and choraux contest, days of friendship, summer school tackling the problems of teaching of Breton and the history, and the Breton topicality.
Reviews
The review Feiz ha Breiz , which had existed of 1865 with 1884, was started again in 1899 by Bleun-Brug created in 1905, and came from there to make, little by little, office of body of association.
The review Bleun-Brug
A review in Breton Language named Bleun-Brug , succeeded the review " Feiz ha Breiz" , then with the review " Kroaz Breiz" , post-war period, like bilingual review of study, directed by the canon François Mevellec, until the contemporary time.
It gathers the regionalistic tendency and radiates on the department of the Finistere. Its analog in Pays vannetais appears in Breton vannetais under the name of Bro Guened which replaces Dihunamb of Loeiz Herrieu.
It will use the orthography of Breton known as “the academic” creates in 1954 by the canon François Falc' hun, and will be member of association Emgleo Breiz.
The review Bleun-Brug will appear in bilingual form Breton-French. In the years 1980, its title will become Bleun-Brug war Feiz ha Breiz . It ceases appearing towards 1985.
The review Books of Bleun-Brug
At the time of the Festivals of Bleun-Brug of Plougastel-Daoulas (1978), the last which this movement knew, the canon Mevellec was put in minority by the rising generation resulting from 1968, which took the control of association and créerent the Cahiers of Bleun-Brug . This explains how the canon Mevellec , in spite of his advanced age, changed title to the review, left Bleun-Brug Historique channel (reference to the review illustrates Feiz ha Breiz ).
The main actors of the Cahiers of Bleun-Brug are the Chanoine Falc' hun, Job Iridal year, Jean-Pierre-Thomin, Charlez An Dréau.
This review did not last and in 1985, it remains nothing any more the Bleun Brug if it is not a legal existence with the prefecture (president: Charlez Year Dréau), in order to avoid the danger of recovery of this reference symbol by other actors of the Breton scene.
Indeed, directly resulting from vagueness “68, these Bleun-Brugers young people will laicize association and will remove any nationalist and religious character to him, betraying in the spirit of much, in particular the members of association Unvaniezh Koad Kev, the spirit even of Bleun-Brug and its founder, the Abbé Perrot.
These books of Bleun-Brug led nevertheless to a spiritual experiment in Breton Langue, Minihi Levenez, in 1984.
