Blessed Khiar
Béni Khiar is a coastal town of Tunisia located in the area of the Cape Bon (4 kilometers in the north of Nabeul).
Attached administratively to the Governorship of Nabeul, it is the seat of a delegation of 35.565 inhabitants (2006) and of a municipality of 16.992 inhabitants.
It is known to be an important artisanal center for the weaving of the Laine and the production of Tapis and Broderie S. It is also an active port of fishing and it has a zone Industrie lle.
A project of factory of Dessalement of Sea water functioning with the solar energy is there in the course of experimentation.
At the sporting level, it has a team of Hand-ball, El Bath Sportif of Blessed Khiar (EBSBK), which evolves/moves out of national hen. Several players were distinguished at the national level and the international level such as Marouène Maggaiez, guard of the male team of Tunisia of handball, playing Montpellier Handball (season 2006 - 2007).
Béni Khiar organizes each year a Festival liturgical musics during first about fifteen the month of Ramadan.
