Blek , known as Blek the rock , is a character of Cartoon created in Italy by the studio EsseGesse composed of Giovanni Sinchetto, Dario Guzzon and Pietro Sartoris in 1954 for the Italian editor Dardo under the name of He Large Blek . Published strisce (format with Italian) during 650 booklets until 1967 has before a litigation opposes the authors to the editor. The trio then decides to give up the character to create another similar at a competitor. It will be Capt' Ain Swing (or Ordering Mark in Italy).

In France

It is Lug which will publish the entirety of the adventures of Blek. First of all in black and white in the review of small size Kiwi, then in a review with its name republishing its adventures colors. Many covers were carried out by Jean Frisano. When the original stories were exhausted, other stories were created with in particular Carlo Cedroni or Nicola del Principe, but also in France by Jean-Yves Mitton, André Amouriq or Ciro Tota. In 1988, Yugoslav draftsmen took again also the character. One could read these stories in the last numbers of Kiwi.
