Blegny
Blegny (in Walloon , locally marked Blègné ) is a common French-speaking of Belgium located in Walloon region in the Province of Liege, with the Pays of Herve.
Commune
Blegny counted at July 1st 2004 12 660 inhabitants (6 231 men and 6 429 women) for a surface of 26,08 km ².This commune was created the January 1977, by fusion of several localities of the environs ; the name of “Blegny” is in fact the name of a hamlet of the village of Trembleur .
The commune is crossed by the rivers of the Bolland and the Julienne.

Tourism
The village of Trembleur shelters the field of Blegny-Mine, old coal mine henceforth assigned to tourism.
History
August 6th, 1914, the 16th IH of the German imperial army passed by the weapons 19 civilians there and destroyed there 40 houses at the time of the German Atrocités made at the beginning of the invasion.
