Bledisloe Cup
The Bledisloe Cup is an annual competition of Rugby, disputing between the teams of Australia and New Zealand.
The trophy bears the name of Lord Bledisloe, governor-general of New Zealand, representing of the Queen, in station in 1931, which was the giver
The Australian ones and the New Zealanders are not agreement on the date of the first competition: match with the Eden Park of Auckland in 1931 or at the time of the New Zealand round in Australia in 1932.
Disputed in an irregular way until in 1982, it takes place every year as from 1984, either at the time of series of meeting of rounds, or at the time of a single match. Since 1996, it is disputed within the framework of the Tri-nations. Until 2005, if the teams were with equality on all two match (a victory everywhere or 2 null), the holder team of the trophy preserved it.
From 2006 (except in 2007), the Tri Nations gives place to three meetings between New Zealand and Australia, and generally leads to a winner, even if the equality is theoretically still possible (a victory everywhere and a tie). The Wallabies held it between 1998 and 2002, the All Blacks hold it since 2003.
Between 1951 and 1978, the New Zealanders did not return it only once to their neighbors. It is more the long period of the history of the trophy.
