Bleached
Blondi (1934 - April 29th 1945) was the Chien of Adolf Hitler.
Description
Of race German Shepherd, this animal was a gift made by Martin Bormann in Hitler in 1941. Bleached remained with Hitler even during its stay with the Führerbunker in the Berlin besieged Bataille of Berlin. It put five pups in April 1945 low at it; the father was a German shepherd, Harass, pertaining to Gerdy Troost. Hitler named one of the pups Wolf ( wolf ), its preferred nickname and significance of its own first name, Adolf.
During the battle of Berlin, it orders with its doctor, Ludwig Stumpfegger, to give capsules of Cyanure to Blondi to make sure that she would not suffer if the Soviet troops would find it. The latter found later the skins of Bleached and the one of the pups; one does not know the fate of the four others.
The secretary of Hitler, Traudl Junge, claims that Eva Braun hated Blondi and gave him sometimes kicks.
All the accounts agree on the love of Hitler for Blondi. She often remained at her sides, and it was allowed to him to sleep in its room in the bunker.
Hitler had already had a first German shepherd, who had been given to him in 1921 during his years of economic difficulties, but it was forced to send the dog to live elsewhere; this one escaped and joined its Master. Hitler, which adored honesty and obedience, consequently developed a large respect for this race of dog.
In the popular culture
Bleached is mentioned in a song of Walter Moers, Ich hock' in meinem Bonker and in a novel of Peter Greenaway, Gold (1992).
