Blazon of Galicia

Heraldic
The weapons of Galicia are blasonnent as follows: Of azure to the gold chalice, surmounted by a money host, and accompanied by seven small crosses by same, 3 with dextral, 3 with sinistral and one as a chief. The ecu is stamped of a royal crown. .II of speaking Armes acts, evoking the name Galicia (Galicia) by an approximation: chalice (cáliz)
The Holy Chalice
The Saint Chalice ( Santo Graal in Galician) is one of the oldest historical symbols which represents Galicia like political institution. The Saint Chalice appears in a document for the first time like identifier the kings of Galicia in English armorial bearings in 1282. The chart of the weapons of the kingdom of Galicia did not cease evolving/moving through the Siècle S. the Chalice of one closed graphics in the beginning (Bergshammar armorial bearings, Sweden, 1436 and Gymnich, Flandres, 1445) it evolved to an open form.
The modern graphic standardization of the Weapons or Blazon of Galicia was established in 1972 by the Real Academia Galega (RAG), the Galician Royal Academy.
