Blancpain
Manufacture Blancpain is a clock making company belonging to the Swatch Group. It forms part with Breguet and Leon Hatot of the marks of Luxury of the group.
Its owner is Marc A. Hayek, grandson of Nicolas Hayek.
The average costs of the Blancpain watches are of 22 ' 000 Swiss francs (approximately 15.000 euros) but some are sold several hundreds of thousands of francs with a price record of 930 ' 000 Swiss francs (approximately 600.000 euros). No Blancpain watch functions with a quartz, they are all mechanical.
The mark initially founded in 1735 with Villeret by Jehan-Jacques Blancpain, then was started again in 1983 by Jean-Claude Biver and Jacques Piguet, which makes of it the oldest clock making company of the world.
Manufacture, the place where the watches are assembled, is located in the village of the Brassus, in the Valley of Joux, canton of Vaud, chains of the Swiss Jura, on the place of origin of the mark.
