Black mulberry tree
The black mulberry tree ( Morus will nigra L.) is a species of Fruit tree originating in Asia Western (South of the the Caucasus, Arménie, Iran) and pertaining to the family of the Moracée S.
It summer introduced and cultivated in all the Mediterranean basin since the Antiquity for its Fruit S, the Mûre S, which are rather forsaken nowadays.
Description
The black mulberry tree is a Arbre Monoïque with slow growth which can reach 10 to 20 meters in height.Its null and void sheets are alternate, glabrous or slightly pubescent with the reverse of the sheet. They are generally cordiformes but can be lobed. They measure up to 15 cm length.
The black mulberry tree is rustic and support a climate of the type Zone USDA 5.
Self-fertilizing, it flowers in spring.
It gives edible fruits of approximately 25 mm length, very trying and fragile which become ripe towards mid-August. They must be consumed quickly because they are quickly perishable.
