Black Terret
The black terret is a Cépage of white grape France.
Origin and geographical distribution
With 369 hectares (in 2004), the type of vine is cultivated mainly in the Mediterranean region. It encépagement belongs to wines of Châteauneuf-of-Pope, Côtes of the Rhone, Coteaux of Languedoc, Corbières and Minervois.The gray Terret and the white Terret are varieties of the black terret.
The black terret was used as parent of the type of vine dyer Terret-Bouschet.
Characters ampelographic
- End of the young branch opened out, cottony white with dyed with carmine edging.
- Young person fluffy sheets, with bronzed beaches
- adult Sheets, with 5 lobes with major higher side sines, a petiolar sine in narrow quadrant on superimposed board, teeth ogival, average, a limb aranéeux and slightly pubescent.
Farming aptitudes
Maturity is of third late time: 35 days after the chasselas.
Technological potential
The bunches are average with large and the oblong bays are of intermediate size. The bunch is truncated, compact and winged. The type of vine is vigorous but fairly productive. It gives according to the grounds and type of wines of 50 hl/ha in the slopes to nearly 100 - 150 hl/ha in the good grounds in zone of plain. The terret is generally led out of goblet to short size. It is not very sensitive to the Excoriose and the gray Pourriture, but it fears the Oïdium the Mildiou and the worms of the bunch.Synonyms
