Black River

The black Fleuve is a Publisher of Romance popular French which was created in 1949 by Armand de Caro and Guy Krill. Among the most famous collections of the black River, one can quote Spécial Organizes (launched in 1949), Espionnage (1950) and Anticipation (1951).

With the number of the most famous novels published by this editor, one can also quote the first San-Antonio, the German series of the Perry Rhodan or the Company of the ices of Georges-Jean Arnaud. One can also quote the best-seller of Plum Sykes, Blonde Attitude , appeared in the collection Comédie or the devil gets dressed in Prada with Lauren Weisberger. The Black River is also the editor of Harlan Coben.

Since its origins, the black River published 100 collections: 1000 authors: 10000 titles and sold nearly a billion works (figures 2004).

The collection Anticipation

In September 1951, in the tread of the creation of the collection the fantastic Ray by the editions Hatchet, the black River creates its own collection of S.F., called Anticipation, which is its answer to creation of this collection but in a definition much more popular. It indeed aims a public made up of young adults amateurs of the kind and privileges the Space-opera and the subjects general public. It had one exceptional lifespan since it published two thousand titles until 1998. It thus on the occasion to reveal a certain number of major French authors, of which Stefan Wul, Kurt Steiner, Jimmy Guieu and B.R. Bruss. The first book of the collection, the conquerors of the universe, is the first of a saga in 5 volumes of F. Richard-Bessiere. The last volume of this collection is the Odyssey of the species of Roland C. Wagner which was published in November 1998.
